MNCAR –  Monthly Spotlight- Harrison Rust

1. Why did you join MNCAR and how long have you been a member?

I joined MNCAR in 2021 through the Broker Basics program to become more involved in Minnesota’s commercial real estate community. Since then, that experience has come full circle. I’ve served on the Emerging Leaders Committee for the past several years, helping shape the same program that first introduced me to MNCAR.

2. What do you enjoy most about the CRE industry?

I enjoy how interconnected every aspect of commercial real estate is. It’s fascinating to see what it takes to successfully lease, manage, operate, acquire, own, and sell commercial assets in today’s market.

3. What’s the next place on your travel bucket list?

Alaska! As an avid fisherman and master angler, it’s been at the top of my bucket list for years.

4. What are you currently binge-watching?

The Sopranos.

5. What type of deal or project do you find most rewarding to work on?

I especially enjoy working with nonprofit organizations because I feel I can make a meaningful impact by helping them navigate their real estate decisions and solve complex challenges.

6. What CRE market shift has surprised you the most in the last year?

The return to the office surge has been the biggest surprise. With the pandemic largely behind us, it’s encouraging to see companies and employees embracing in-person work again, with many organizations back in the office three to four days a week.
